A study by the Institute of Mental Health found that 1 in 7 Singaporeans has experienced a mental health condition. It can impact quality of life, so it’s important to pay attention to it.
When Should You Seek Help?
Feeling down or anxious from time to time is normal, but if it starts affecting your sleep, appetite, mood, work performance, or relationships, it’s a sign to reach out for support.
Who Is at Risk?
Mental health conditions can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. However, factors like family history, childhood trauma, and a stressful environment can increase the risk.
Where Can You Get Help?
There are over 70 Community Outreach Teams (CREST), supported by the Agency for Integrated Care, providing mental health support and connecting people to the right services in the community.
How Can You Support Someone?
Be patient and non-judgmental. Give them time and space to make decisions, offer support, and don’t forget to take care of yourself too!
